well guys,

I've been quoted very similar prices at 4 different places in my city - Fresno, CA.

For the back window, 1/4 panel windows and passenger/driver sides the lowest quote I got was $190 and the highest I got was $240. the rest were in between that.

So, Rdot9, I dont think you're being taken advantage of. I think it just matters where you live and what kind of competition / demand there is for the product. For instance, Fresno is in the Central Valley where it get's really hot and tint is a freakin necessity so high demand means higher prices. Also, we are a lot smaller than say Los Angeles so the number of places offering the service is lower which could also have an impact on prices. I think it's all relative to your environment.

I do recommend though that you look around a lot and not jump at the first "deal". Knowledge is power.

I know that 3m makes a tint that is guaranteed not to turn purple. This is probably the kind of tint they are quoting him.. It's really good stuff and I have it on my car. I believe I paid about $200 for all windows and a windshield strip. Just make sure they put a strip of felt on the inside of the door panels so it won't scratch the tint. They'll probably charge a little extra for that but no more than$30...
