Default running four cylinders

What in the world is this guy talking about in the third paragraph http://musclecarfacts.net/ford-reviews/ford-mustang-reviews/2007-ford-mustang.html ? “running four cylinders at traffic idle speed “

Guess I need to take my car to the dealer, mine doesn't seem to do that.

You will never notice it. Its the same technology that originally came on the cadillac northstar engine in the late 90's and then again in the new Hemi. What it does is when the computer detects that you are cruising in a low RPM it shuts down spark and injectersto 4 cylinders which increases fuel mileage. When the computer detects the throttle opening again it regains spark and fuelto all 8 cylinders, ie gas guzzling horsepower and lower mileage. If the 07's didnt have this then you would probably only get 10-12 mpg on the freeway.

Isnt it called displacement on demand. That is how the corvette z06 can get such good mileage at such high HP. Didnt know the gts had this though.

I could have sworn that was new for the 08's. This is the first I've heard of the 07's having it. Does anyone know if they really do?

GT's don't have this, what they do have is a "limp home" feature.

im 99.9% sure our GT´s dont have that option.

I´ve heard somewhere that the engines can go to 4 cilinder mode if the engine overheats... though i'm pretty sure i'm wrong since i havent heard it in anthoer place or from somebody else lol.
