Fuel Pump Problem, anyone have experience?
So 2 nights ago i came home around 2:30 am in my little 05 V6 everything was running smoothly. Then the next morning after I woke up and did all my work i tried to leave around 2:00 pm. I went to turn on my car, it turned over several times but nothing. Opened the hood checked to see if everything was still connected ( Mind you I don't really know what I'm looking for) and found nothing. Tried it again still didnt work. My dad and I went to some cheveron and picked up one of their mechanics (I know it was weird for me too.) and brought him back to our house to see if he could asess the situation. He tinkered some things asked me to "crank it" for him and wala. It worked. After he reved my engine for 30 seconds or so, he checked my fluids and stuff it turns out i was really low on brake fluid and transmission fluid (aside from the point however but i still refilled). While driving him back he told me it was the fuel pump which was malfunctioning and said all he did was tap it alittle bit and it ran but warned me to keep my engine on for about 10 more minutes since the spark plugs were full of gas and if we turned it off now it wouldn't reawaken. I dropped him off thanked him (we payed him $50 for everything all together the transmission fluid the brake fluid and the personal service) I left my car on a little bit and my dad advised me to turn it off about five minutes after returning home since it has already been a while. After I turned it off i checked to see if it would restart, and it didnt let me down. But just an hour or two later when getting ready to leave I tested to see if it was still in working condition, and again it only turned over but never fired up.
I've been tried to find the fuel pump to see if i could give it a few taps like he did to get it running and then take it to a mechanic to get it thoroughly checked out. But I cant seem to find it.
Any experts?
Thank you so much in advance

i'm thinking the mechanic was tapping on the
fuel pump relay and not the actual fuel pump.
i don't know much about the v6's, but on the
v8's the fuel pump is in the tank and the fuel
pump relay is located in the engine compartment
power distribution box (fuse box)

it wouldn't hurt to change the fuel filter if you
suspect it is clogged with debris.
make sure you relieve the fuel line pressure before
beginning (remove fuel pump relay and crank 3-5 seconds)

If anyone cares i managed to get it fixed witha trip to the repair shop. They said ihad a short and one of my relays wasnt working well.
it cost me about 300
but its not that bad
