A good nitrous (not nos) system will run anywhere between $1200 and $1700 for parts alone. And unless you are VERY handle and knowledgeable most likely another $800 at least for installation, wireing, and a real good tune.

In order for it to be as fast as you would like, and as safe as possible you need to get the proper extra parts and pieces rather than just the crap that comes in the kit. ( all the kit is good for is basically the bottle and lines)

I dropped about $2,500 all together on my system. It still isnt quite where i want it but getting there.

Plus the cost of refilling the bottle once a week.

HAhahah i hear that. $30 every fill is hurting my pockets. Having the electric bottle opener at my fingertips isnt helping either, lol!

I don't understand where this extra money goes to? What else do you need after you buy the kit?

Agreed, You need to build on it to get the safest and best performance. I am waiting for the big brown truck to drop my system off. I am doing a Ny-Trex Triple Threat kit with a fuel pressure safety switch, purge, soft plume, MSD window switch and a couple other odds and ends. You need a nitrous specific tune as well. You cannot run agressive timing with nitrous. If you intend to go over 100 shot, you have another concern. Unless using a stand alone fuel supply and pump, it can overdemand the fuel rail and cause a pressure drop and lean out the engine.Best to do a dynotune at that point to be certain of the A/F ratio remaining flat and not spiking when the nitrous kicks.

Heater ( a must if you plan on spraying at night, or twice in one hour) $200 (uninstalled)

Purge ( not "neccisary", but it sucks without, too much lag) $200 (uninstalled)

Nitrous pressure gauge ( the in car kind, not bottle kind)$80? (uninstalled) $200 + for electric

Extra switches and wires (for heater and purge) $20 (uninstalled) wiring these suck too

Gauge pod$80 "ish"

Those are the neccissities if you plan on running it properly, and safe.

Also: (Nice things to have, but not neccissarily "needed"

Wideband gauge (VERY nice to have, probably the best thing i have in my system, keeps you from blowing **** up) $300 (uninstalled)

Electric bottle opener ( I LOVE this thing, more of a novelty though) $200 (uninstalled)

All of the extra wiring really adds up. All of the extra installation REALLY adds up. Just that top you are looking about $500 in parts. plus the $600 kit. Thats $1100 about, with roughly $700-$800 in just installation with all of that other stuff. (the wiring and gauges really take a lot)

Up to about $1,900 for neccessities. The tune, a very important part, $500 or so on a dyno. $2,400.

Then add your extra goodies that are nice to have and you really broke the bank.

FYI, this is my view, and what ive seen. im sure the prices are not to the "T", but roughtly, this is what else is needed.

Yup, yup and yup. Fortunately I have never had to pay for labor. I got a custom gauge pod made by Speed Of Sound that fits in the cupholder. That was $150. http://www.speedofsoundllc.com/

Yeah labor kicked my *** hard. But i trust my shop, and not me. When it comes to something like a nitrous system there really isnt much room for error, so id rather dish out the extra $$$ to know in my head i am as safe as i cant be.

If i knew someone who was experianced with this i might have gone to him, but unfortuanatly i dont, lol.

LOL I have a background as a mechanic, but I have a Ford ASE Master Tech that works for me now. Everytime UPS pulls up, he is like "Now what did ya buy"!
