Default Hood scoop first or stripe?opinion needed.

I want to get the Roush hood scoop and the two color stripe like in the PIC..I heard the Roush scoop need to drill holds..
So do I install stripe first or scoop first?
BTW,I'll get the hood scoop painted black to match the stripe..

Yes, you have to drill 7 holes on your hood for the Roush. As for the line, I don't have one, but I would imagine that it would depend on the lines. If you are doing one just like the pick above I would imagine ( and I am no expert) that you could install the stripes first, then drill holes or install the scoop and stripe around it...which I would think is more difficult. I'll let others with more experience in that area chime in.....

I my opinion...our mustangs were designed (purposely or by accident) to where basically any type of stripes would look good. I am not sure if it's because of the hood, lines or what...but to this day...I have not seen a stripe job where I would go...dang....that looks bad. So, I'll say go for it.....

I'm having a hard time seeing the pic real clearly, but it appears to me that the hood is painted gold, matching the contour lines of the hood, and then there is a modified "SS Superstripe" installed over that...Modified as in wider than normal, with the black pinstripes placed wider as well....

When I did my SSS, I already had the hood scoop installed, removed it, layed down the stripe, and re-installed the scoop. But, therein lies the rub....No pun intended....It is a known issue that the hood scoop applied over the stripe will result in bunching of the stripe, specifically in the corners of the scoop. So, to avoid that, you may want to consider striping around the scoop at time of install....Obviously, I like the look of the Roush scoop being the same color as the stripe. I'm still trying to figure out how to cut my existing stripe around the perimeter of the scoop, but not cut into the clearcoat......[8D][8D]

id say do the stripes first then. Just out of curioustiy though since its not my slice of pie, but why would u want to put a non functional scoop on?
