Default Heat killed my shaker 1000!!!

It was 101 degrees today. I have been in school all day, and my car was sitting in the direct sun.
So I come out to my car and attempt to get in it. It was so hot inside it was literally suffocating me, I really couldn't breathe at all. So I got back out and left the door open for awhile. So I get in againand try to crank some tunes on my shaker while going through the packed school parking lot, as I always do. For the teenage "cool" statement... pop it on C.D. mode, it starts shuffling through discs and it says bad disc on every cd and starts popping them all out. What a pile of you know what. I've heard about the shaker problems and the nicknames it has aquired, but it has always worked fine for me. I've never seen heat kill a radio though. That's pretty sad.
It didn't work the whole 30 minutes home. I'm about to go try it again. I HOPE it was just the temporary heat. [sm=rolleyes.gif]

Anyone else ran into a heat/shaker problem?

It may not be the shaker. The CDs may have gotten too hot and warped. Try some other CDs.

Black Car, 101 Degrees = VERY VERY HOT inside. Heck mine is mostly white, it has a black Vert top, it is still very hot!

Yeah it might be the c.d.s... ill try that.

and yes black car+101 degrees= death if you stay in it, lol. I would be curious to know how much hotter it was in the car than it was outside.I probably couldn't have survived for 2 minutes inside that thing.
It was by far the hottest thing i've ever been in, in my 16 years on this earth.

I'm willing to bet it was your CD's, too, especially if they were burned on a computer. Those CD's are the worst for durability. I've had my Shaker for a year and a half and have never had a problem. Your radio works, that's a very good sign.

Look at it as a learning experience, a cheap solar shade can work really well. I keep one in all of my cars and use them every day.

It can be over 150 inside your car with 100 outside. I live in hot area and always turn the stereo off when I park the car. Let it cool down and it might start working again. The best approach is not to use it in 150 degree heat.

No doubt your Shaker is fine and your CD's are warped. I don't use CD's anymore, personally, just an iPod or the Sirius radio.

No, heat your oven to 350 and place the cds in there with a brick on top. let them reach temp than turn the oven off and let them cool slowly with the brick remaining on top till cool.
