Default TPMS Question - New One

Hello,

New to posting mostly use this as a place to get parts for the 07 gt.

My question is that i have an 07 and i purchased rims and tires used off of another member here recently and they were 20" foose DF-5 and had nitto 555 tires with a 245/35zr20 size.

Now here comes the question, i know that these years were equiped with the TPMS and i have used the search function as much as i can in order to understand this whole thing but the problem i am seeing is that there isnt a problem. There are no lights, no sirens, no beeps, NOTHING. I dont know how long it takes for these things to recognize that the sensors arent in tact but for some odd reason none of this stuff is actually popping up. The other thing is that i know that the system works because when i got a nail in my tire it popped up showing that there was low tire pressure. The last thing is that i called the dperson that i purchased them from and he told me that he was never told that they would be putting those in

Any ideas, or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Austin

I put used 18" Polished factory wheels with the sensors, I did not get a fault till about 30 miles or so. just press reset, it will go away. If you do have the sensors, You have to take it to a tire shop with a scanner and they can reset it for You. I have not done this yet.

When I swapped out my factory rears for drag radials on takeoffs minus the sensors, it took maybe ten miles or so to get a fault...now everytime I start it up I have to hit reset to get the error message off...

It will eventually come on OR your system in not working properly since your last TPMS warning.

my advice: don't rely upon any of the warnings your car is equipped with. I myself check all my fluids and tire pressures once a week. Some consider this a bit obssesive compulsive but it takes maybe 2 minutes. Tire psi guages start at about 5 bucks...

see s197richie thats the thing is that i dont. I am 21 and this is my first brand new car and i purchased it with my own money. I am a little less compulsive then you (once every two weeks) but i am still out there doing the same thing as you. I just want to know if these things have the tire sensor inside i guess it has a LOT of those hidden weights that are on one side to balance but the person i bought the rims from had an 06 and the person he bought the rims from didnt tell him anything abut the sensors.

They don't have the sensors and even if they did you would have to have them programmed to your car's computer VIA the dealership.
