Planning on ripping out my Shaker 500, what should I get?

Another thing I like about the Kenwood is that it allows you to load custom POI. The Pioneer doesn't allow that. Want a warning when you're coming up on the speed or red light camera. The Kenwood will do it for you.

Question for those running aftermarket HU with stock everything else.
Is your HU powering anything or is it just sending the music signals to the on board amps?
Do you notice any improvement in sound quality and can the system now play louder?
Thank you

Your newHU still powers the speakers .... the subwoofers have their own amps for power ... but you do have to use the trigger wire on the HU to power on the Subwoofer amps.

I like simple set ups for car audio. I`m ripping out my Shaker 500 immediatly. I`ll be going with the Kenwood DNX7100 DVD Navigation receiver which is a double DIN size. For speakers I`m going with Infinity`s Kappa series in the door and back deck with a 90 watt x 4 channel Infinity amp. In the trunk I`m going with a Kicker L5 solobaric in a ported box pushed with a 300 watt Infinity sub amp.
The whole system will cost about $2,500 and won`t be too fancy, but will sound amazing. Infinity makes some of the best speakers available. I use them in my Mazda now and everyone who hears them can`t believe how good it sounds.
Also if you want a good sub check out the Infinity Basslink powered sub. My God, what an amazing little unit. Takes up only one square foot of space, but is awesome. Not intended for the uber bass heads, but for the fast metal I listen to it kills.
