one thing you should probably do to not screw your car up isrunon Methanol (methyl alcohol, wood alcohol) instead of the non-existing substance Methonal.

Fill your fluids and use a thick non-synthetic oil, put it on the dyno, make a pass and then change the oil. Put it back on the dyno, make a couple passes, and then change your oil. Drive the car easy for 500-700 miles and change the oil. Drive the car easy for another 500 miles and then change the oil to a good synthetic. This is how I break in built 3V motors. How you seat those rings in the very beginning will determine how well your motor performs.

I can't help but wonder who pays out for an engine job but doesn't ask the builder these types of remedial questions. HE is the one who built the motor, HE knows what tolerances he dialed into the machining. Asking us will only reap you ill informed answers.
Mind you, now we all know you have a built motor right?

+1

Some builders/shops will do alot of the break in stuff for you, atleast mine does, just so I don't have to worry about coming back in with something wrong.
But this is the downfall of allot of built motors, people abuse the motors right off the bat then wonder why things are always breaking.
