Sounds like the tune is running fat...rich.
All the online tuners always send there tunes out rich, its a safety issue for them.
Take it in to a local dyno and tune it out just right and your problem will be solved.

im running tunes from B chips
the rich smell came from when i was running the 93 octane, but now that i have switched back to the 87 octane tune it still stinks, something it never did before when running 87
but ive ordered 2 new MAF mounting screws from the dealership, should take about a week to get it, i'll throw it back to stock and see where that leaves me

That throws a bit of a loop in the equation, but still could be the tune.
When you dealing with a gas smell you should be able to narrow it down. Start at the fuel tank smell around, work your way up.
Follow the fuel lines running fromt the tank, check the injectors etc...

Also for my curiousity when do you notice.
Start up? Hot or cold days? Cruising? Accel? Decel? Idle? All around?

ive yet to find time to get back to the dealership to order a new mounting screw, but thats the only reason why i havent got back to stock yet

bulges out from the spare tire well. There is a black plastic cover over
your evap purge canister. The vent goes thru a filter before going to atmosphere.
Crawl on under and remove the plastic cover. Everything associated with
the gasoline vapors resides there.
