Default Just Threw A P0340 *Update*

Got my first code while driving back from the beach. At first I didnt think anything serious of it, as my air filter is really dirty (Im cleaning it right now), and I figured that was most likely the cause. Well I did a little research, and its the drivers camshaft position sensor. Seems like the alternator throws this code alot as well, I guess. Theres TSB on the alternator correct? Im not really sure what could have caused it to go bad, as I dont have UDPs or any aftermarket stereos or electronics (aside from an alarm system), so theres no extra strain on the system... I have had dead battery problems before, but Ford replaced my battery under warranty and dismissed it. I checked the code and cleared it. Ill see if it pops up again, and if so I guess its time to head to the dealer.

I have an intake and tune, and Im debating on whether or not to flash back to stock or not. Ive had them change my oil and do regular maintenance before and they havent mentioned anything about it. Theyre also a certified Saleen dealer and installer. What do you guys think?

Never hurts to go back to stock although if your dealer wants to be anA$$ about it, he'll still worm his way out of it using the CAI as his excuse [:@]

Ya thats what Ill most likely do.

Is there any way to tell if its actually the alternator or if its something else without taking it in?

My dealer knows about my parts. That's something you should have established first thing.

Ok, well heres what happened. I was going to take it in, so I uninstalled my C&L, reinstalled the stock intake and then retuned to stock last Friday. Was going to drop it off Saturday morning to have them take a look at it. Right after I retuned, I noticed the code got erased. Basically... I drove around trying to get it to come back before I took it in and it never did. Ive driven the car stock about 300 miles this week and theres still no sign of the dummy light yet.

Do you guys this it was something that had to do with the tune? If so, why would it just randomly pop up now? Ive had the same tune for 6 months now.

Im thinking today Im going to reinstall the C&L and retune the car to see if the engine light comes back. Please feel free to post any comments or suggestions. This one has me stumped. Im thinking I might call my tuner.

If you have not already reset the PCM by taking off the negative terminal, or reset the code with ahand held tuner, then the dealship will be able to see the code history when they plug it in to the diagnostics.
