Default Will my window fall out?

I plan on using a pro sucker mount to afix a video camera to the exterior of thecar for when I ride the Woodward cruise this coming weekend. The sucker is about 8" across and the combined weight of it and the camera is probably about 1-1.5kg.

The best place, as I see it, is one of the Rear side windows, the mount fits onto it a treat and the camera view angle is pretty sweet. Now, my question is this, how is the window attached to the frame? I'm guessing it's bonded with a glue of some sort, I wonder if it's strong enough to resist the constant pull of the load [?]

Anybody whose perhaps removed these windows to install delete panels? Are they 'in for life' or are they pretty weakly stuck on?

Thanks in advance
Marcus

Here is what they look like with the windows removed. The glass is positioned by a pin but they are held in only by a bead of urathane. An extra support arm to brace the camera against the car wouldn't hurt. I think that the windows are very strong though. When you slam the door with the windows shut the air pressure is forcing them out over and over many times throughout the cars life without harm. I have to think it would be safe.

I would think you would have to worry more about the sucker mount coming lose than you would the window coming out. Like Wingman75 said added support wouldn't hurt.

Thanks Wingman.
Well, the air pressure thing isn't really an issue since theypinched the BMW idea of dropping the windows by 1cm when a door is open.
You're right about theurethane, isn't very thickis it?

I love the louvres by the way, where did you get them?

Yea, added support sounds like a good idea but the angle of the glass doesn't really help much in that respectm kaes it difficult, unless I place a second sucker on the roof and tie them together.
I'll get a picture up in a bit.

Right, here are my two options although the side window mounting point gives a much more interesting view angle in my opinon.

Mind you, if the windows did fall out It would mean fitting louvres would be easier

Your right about the windows dropping down forgot about that. Either position would work and the side mount's not necessarily the best. A higher angle would afford a wider view. I'll be looking for you at the Dream Cruise you'll be easy to spot... the Mustang with the missing window.

EDIT: Almost forgot. I got the louvers from Silver Horse Racing. http://www.silverhorseracing.com/web...ategory_id=255

LMAO I nearly sprayed my Guinness all over my monitor then HAHAHAHA

I'll try something to avoid using the sidesI think Now, the importat question is this, do I place it on the left side so as to catch the oncoming cars, or the left to catch the crowd? Oh Hell, I'll do the cruise twice and have it on both sides LOL

Thanks for the details for the louvres, I'll make the order now,I think yours look awesome, I gotta have some of that
