Default Octane effects on stock cars!

Since i purchaced my car, exactly 1 year ago today, I have always put 92 octane in my car! I have never noticed any problems with idle or how the car runs other than the long drive....stall thing! Yesterday I stopped for gas and was not paying attention to the attendent and he happened to put 87 octane in the car....I was Pissed! Needless to say i think the car actually runs better with the lesser octane. Smoother idle(although i thought the 92 was smooth). The car sounds a little healthier too, has a smooth rumble instead of a crackle sound! Have i hurt my car by putting 92 in all this time? Should i put the 92 back in on my next fill up? Your opinions please

Higher octane does you absolutely no good unless you are tuned for it. You can run 87 all day long in a stock GT. You're fine with 87.

Stock computer is set torun 87 octane....put 87 in unless you get a tune for something higher. Read the cars manual im sure it tells you that.

No need to run 92 unless you have a CAI or SC. You have not hurt anything besides your wallet buy running the higher octane.

If you do have the tune the 87 will hurt the car, however if you stay off the WOT you should be fine, that was the hardest part for me.

In Canada, in my city anyways, it's LAW! Seriously..not one gas station in my town is allowed to be a pay at the pump!!

Oh, liquor stores were also closed on Sunday's 'til only last year as well....lol! [8D]

higher octane will boost rwhp by a few, ona stock motor, literally 2 or 3. the way it burns in the engine will cause the sensors to adjust timing. you won't notice it i'm sure.
