Hurst or spend the extra $$$ on MGW?

Hurst or spend the extra $$$ on MGW?
So yeah... Has anyone used both the Hurst and MGW shifters and can say if the MGW is worth the extra money? It seems no one at all disagrees at MGW's amazing shifter versus all others. I can get the Hurst for $200 shipped... The MGW w/ shift stopsand shipping is about $340 or so, plus buying an aftermarket shift ball somewhere else. So in the end the MGW will come out to about double the price thanthe Hurst.
So, is it that much better?
And what are shift stops? Are these the same things Steeda puts on its $130 sport-shifter option?

BTW, don't use the shift stops. The manual trans has them integrated and if you use ones that come with a shifter, it can actually screw up the transmission by not fully engaging it. I believe even MGW says not to install them.
On the flip side, I'm kinda interested in your question too.

Yeah I know the Hurst is great... I've read a lot of reviews, especially on here. But it seems the MGW is king of shifters for the S197. Thats why Im trying to figure out how great the MGW is vs the hurst's price...
The Tri-ax is out of the question since it costs too close to the MGW anyways.....

I would say it depends on what you want....they are 2 opposite shifters
the MGW is probably the best if you like a very smooth and clean shift
The hurst is opposite as it is notchy and well smooth doesnt come to mind
If you did not realize this then you need to do more HW cause i cant see anyone really liking both and then making a decision based on the money....

You don't need the shift stops so that will cut the cost by 20 bucks. Also the stock shift **** (M12 x 1.25 thread)works with the MGW if you order that specific shaft. I ordered the shaft for the white Hurst ball (3/8 x 16 thread). I really like the way the Hurst shifter looks, very old school. On the other hand the MGW shifter is awesome. Either way you can't go wrong replacing the stock POS shifter

Yeah it basically depends on whether you want that notchy feel with the hurst or a smooth shifter like the mgw. I personally like to feel the gears click when i'm shifting and thats the main reason i went with the hurst, along with their long history with muscle cars
