From a different point of view
I know I've seen a couple of threads that hit upon this subject, but I got a cheap thrill (not that kind ) out of this and want to share.
I’ve only had my car for a couple of months, and while that’s not a long time, I had never even sat in the passenger seat…ever…no one else has driven my car, much less driven it while I stood along side and just watched. All I can say is, if you know someone you trust to drive you car while you watch: do it.
It all started with my uncle asking to go for a ride. As we walked towards it he asked if I was going to let him drive and, being that I trust him with it, I tossed him the keys. It was funny at first, as he was very, very careful with the car and it took me a while to convince him that he wasn’t going to hurt anything. Of course that carefulness and respect for my property is why is trusted him to begin with. Well, he got the feel for the car and eventually did a couple of 1st to 2nd shifts that chirped some tires, and he had some fun. He then asked if he could take his wife for a ride in it.
I said, “Sure, but on one condition. Everyone tells me the stock exhaust on these is pretty good, but as I’m always driving, I can’t hear it as well as if it drove past me. Give her some gas as you go by.” Well, in the end, even my little stock, not customized or supped up in any way, car, looked and sounded amazing. I loved watching it roar by, and especially loved the look of the rear splitter on the back as he passed.
OK, I’ve made a short ditty long enough, but the moral of today’s story, boys and girls: No matter how many Mustangs you see on the road, you’ll gain a new respect for your car when you see it the way everyone else does…flying by.
Cheers! [sm=icon_cheers.gif]
