Default Engine light

I just took my07' mustang gt in the dealership because the engine light has been coming on and off.I have the SLP Pwerflow x-pipes and SLP Loudmouths on. They said that, that was the cause of that and that there is nothing wrong with my car and that is just that the sensors might not be reading what they are used to with a stock excaust. Does that sound right and has anyone else experienced similar problem?

Are all of your O2 sensors plugged in?

Take it to Autozone and have them give you the codes for free, then post them here.

Catted X pipe with all sensors plugged in and functioning should not be an issue. Codes will tell.

Ford right now is very tight with spending warranty dollars, so they denying a lot of claims.

That's agiven but knowing the codes will point him in the right direction. It could be as simple as one of the02 sensors harnesses is loose. It happened to me. I was doing some workunder mycar and repositioned one of the02 harnesses. In doing so I unknowingly pulled it out a bit. Got a CEL a couple of days later. Can't remember the code right now but it wastelling me02Heater failure Bank 2 Sensor2. Got under the car, saw the loose harness, pushed it back in. Cleared the code..done. No dicking around with the dealership and my aftermarket exhaust. That was 3 months ago.
