counter steering is the trick, watch the super snake vid and watch the front tires...

One thing many people do wrongis use too much throttle. Once you get the tires spinning and start the donut, you will feel the car "swing". The trick is to perpetuate that swing. It requires two things primarily...1) throttle control - if you watch the Super Snake vid, you will clearly see that the driver is revving the engine in a pretty constant cadence, it's timed with "swing" and 2) counter steering - again, this comes after the first swing and must be maintained until you drive out of the donut...which is the cool way to end the donut.

Just like burnouts, stay focussed, get the tires spinning and then don't over throttle. Depending on your horsepower, you'll need to practice on how much throttle you will neeed.

Wet donuts are much more difficult to control.

Dry donuts are the big smokey ones that everyone loves. Practice in a safe place and good luck!

maby its because i used to do donuts in my pick up all the time in the rain but i find them incredably easy in the stang. its something you have to learn and get a "feel" for. the key thing to a good donut is throttle control. dont go crazy and floor it but try not to underpower the spin. also counter steering. dont over do it! you wont get a good spin. get better on wet pavement before you go to dry. the marks of a good donut look amazing. and tires are expencive!

if you're running factory suspension your clutch drops anddonutsmay result in some violent wheel hop. Slap in some rear ca's (lowers at the very least) before you break something!!!

Should I be doing donuts in second gear with 4.10's? I've never tried a donut, not really anywhere to practice here.

^^^ the one donut I've done, I stayed in first, only did two complete revolutions, then when I wanted to pull out of it and head down the road I straightened the car up, snagged second and smoked the tires real good...so IDK about second...

It's all about throttle control. A donut is a perpetual drift with a radius the length of the car. The front of the car should stay almost stationary in place.
