Results in: Corsa vs FRPP Catbacks
After two thousand miles of "testing" the FRPP cat backs, I traded them in on a new set of Corsa's. Here is what I found. At start up and idle the FRPP sound louder and sound great. The Corsa's are pretty mello at idle, louder than stock but not much. At wide open, the Corsa's and the FRPP sound great and pretty loud. The real difference to me is at 1800-2100 RPM whlie cruising in Fifth on the highway that the FRPP were in full on drone mode and the Corsa's are just burbling along. I even put in $300 of insulation to stop the drone but it still droned on. For my money, and how I use my car, the Corsa's are worth not having the drone. If you are into going stoplight to stoplight, like to idle along the main drag, and rarely go on long trips, then the FRPP may actually be a better choice.

Yep that is pretty much the only different....i think that the stingers are alittle louder @ idle or low throttle but not by much.

To the original poster, you have hit the nail on the head 100%. I own the corsa's and have heard plenty of stingers in person.

I barely even notice the drone. I guess some of us are just more sensitive to certain sounds. My wife doesn't even mind and she has sensitive ears. I am also very rarely in that RPM range. Even when driving on the freeway.

Hey ONFIR I had the Stingers, which I loved on start=up but droned me out at 65 in 5th. If there is no traffic, great I could go 75 and lose the drone, but most of the time I would drop it into 4th just to kill the drone and get a much better sound. Seemed kind of eco-unfriendly tho!

I have stingers and love them. The drone never bothered me but I went ahead and dynamatted my trunk and back seat to dull some of the road noise that came with my suspension mods. This seemed to take the edge off of the drone aswell, and while the drone didnt bother me before I definatly knew when I was in the drone zone. Now I have all but forgotten about the drone and rarely hear it; I credit that to my insensativty to the drone and the dyanmat. Anyway my point is that I just got back from a 900 mile road trip and neither I nor my girlfiend had any drone problems. I too considered the Corsa's before my Stinger purchase.....I have no regrets.
