Default FLowmasters getting louder

I have an 06 gt, a couple of months ago i had a set of 40series flowmasters welded in. Lately i have noticed that they seem louder than when i first had them installed. Is it just me or are they actually getting louder?

They get louder and deeper as they break in, from what I've been told.

I would have thought that they would get softer with age as your hearing goes away.

Same here...definitely louder the longer they are used. Got even more loud when I started throwing more air through them with the supercharger!

They do break in and get a bit louder but not by alot. This is the 4th vehicle i have put flowmasters on and i am very happy with them still. Remember as you get more used to a car the more you will notice the little things like noises and power changes as you get more comrortable with it.

Its because the fibreglass packing gets compressed.

(taking cover) I disagree. Ive had a set of american thunder flows for a year and a half. They are no louder or softer than the first day I installed them. I might be wrong, but Id be willing to bet that flowmasters are just chambered, they dont have "stuffing" inside of them. There is nothing to "break in". [8D]
