you like plastic chromed pieces instead of real metal?

I like them, but prefer the chrome. Reminds me of old school.

I like the chromed look. It offsets my premium dash panels. Brushed would sort of blend in. Look odd to me. They look OK against his black plastic panels. Picture them against brushed panels.

LOL, not to sound mean... But these bezels just look like the chrome ones got dirty and smudged.

What grit sandpaper did you use? Id say try one higher and buff it a little bit as you can still see alot of the individual grit marks. Nice job though[sm=smiley20.gif].

Actually, that isn't a bad thing. I spend a lot of time keeping mine fingerprintless. Drives me freaking nuts.

Ok here's the story on them. I HATE chrome, so when I found out the GT500 has the brushed I looked into ordering a set. My heart sank when I was quoted $380 plus shipping.

So I went to the parts store and got some silver spray paint. I took the dash apart and started to prep the parts by sanding them. To my amazement, the little chrome rings are METAL, and not plastic. They even feel like plastic when you are holding them (ultra light). Anyway, I held a magnet up to it to be sure....and yes, they are metal.

320 grit sandpaper is all you need to do this. It's 100% FREE!

Or if you want, you can send me your parts and I'll do it for you for $150.

I can see why you wouldn't want the chrome against the dark interior panels. Shines like a diamond in a goat's ***.

Yeah I didn't see the flaws till I got it out in the sunlight. I'll touch it up and it will be perfect. I just couldn't wait to show them off!
