Default A/C Blasting = Low RPM's While @ Idle?!?!?!

I just noticed this but when I am driving and have the a/c on full blast and push my clutch in hard to come to a slow stop, by RPM's fall below 750 and dance sometimes right around 500, when the air is off it is steady at 750-1000. Is this normal? At one time it almost shut the car off they fell so low while 'dancing'. Help!

The A/C will cause the enging to drag while the compressor is running. I rarely run at MAX/AC to reduce the amount of drag on the engine.

These cars are controlled by the computer, cars of the past would use vacuum kickers on the carb linkage to try to accomodate the AC drag. Rpm should not change on a computer controlled engine as it should make the needed changes to achieve the set RPM. I could be wrong but it may be a problem with your tune. Did you notice this with the stock tune, it would only take 15 mins to return to stock & see if it does it. I would call Brenspeed. I don't notice any significant change in RPM with my CAI & Tune, mine is an auto. Max AC doesn't run the compressor any faster or harder, it just changes where the air comes from, inside VS. outside for normal AC.

Yeah, mine does this as well, but seems to be isolated only when I have the A/C on Max / Recirc....I believe part of the issue is that my throttle body needs to be cleaned....I have heard of other individuals having this issue with idle, and it turned out to be associated with a dirty throttle body.....

whether i use the brenspeed 87 or 93 my car almost stalls every time i leave from a stop or try to reverse....i hate it...only when the a/c is on...other people prolly look at me and think.."oh..first time driving stick"....the a/c is only good for long highway trips...thats my rule..

You have an IAC / Throttle Body issue. Replace the IAC, and I'd bet $ that it fixes it.

you dont need to by anything, its the tune, if you have a vmp tune then go to justin, and ask him to adjust the idle when the a/c is on, then your prob will be fixed. its that simple
