I can do a burnout, just not a full blown roast. I'll test it again tonight
in the parking lot using some water. I'll watch the rpms & mph.

Thanks. That's what I wanted to hear. So, even though I'm turning it off,
it must be still kick'n it on a little bit...right? Is there a way for me to test
the different modes? I mean, hell...maybe my TCS is malfunctioning.
No, its not kicking in 'a little bit'. Thats just wishful thinking. These cars just arent as strong or muscular as you may be used to, its not exactly easy to spin the tires without the right mods.

Trust me, your TCS is off, even if you can't tell.
Are you sureyou didnt dip your tires in red locktite?

Nice....What wierd is that I can break 'em loose easy, but the tach only gets
up to 2K maybe. I've tried mashing the pedal, feathering the pedal. Someone
had mentioned elsewhere something about "if a sensor doesn't sense the front
tires moving...it puts a limiter on the rpms". But if that was the case, why can
others (w/tune-cai only) roast their tires. It's not that I "want" to roast the tires,
but I want the capability.

me too

gramps, it sounds like you just have nice sticky tires
and combined with the altitude, well.......

ORIGINAL: Jackies Stang

Not that i do it everyday but i have NO MODS other than flows and i can roast the tires anytime i want!

I have a completely stock (not for long!) GT and I can BBQ the tires all day long. It'll even shift into 2nd gear if I leave it in drive for the burnout. I live at 210' above sea level. I used to live at 7,000' in Colorado, and I can tell you the power hit you take that high is staggering. Maybe 30%! It made for pretty boring drag races at Bandimere Speedway. I'd be willing to bet it's your altitude. Drive it to a lower altitude and see?

I can roast my mickey thompsons....and those are some sticky tires! Maybe it's the altitude factor because you should be able to roast the tires on any rwd car if you try hard enough.

I'm at maybe 50' above sea level
if I floor it right off a stop I spin the tires alittle (TCS on)
if I do the same with TCS off the back end moves to the side a little before going

now if I'm at the track and actually trying to do a small burn (tcs off)
I raise the RPM's to 1500 slight brake pressure then floor it and it moves side-to-side before moving
