Fuel Filter

RE: Fuel Filter
Ford charged me $20 for mine[:@]. Autozone wanted $8, but they didn't have it in stock. I changed mine at 13k and the car idles smoother. At first i thought I was imagining it, but it's definately smoother.
Be sure to depressurize the fuel system by pulling the fuel pump relay and cranking the car for 5 seconds. Don't get the gas on you, it will burn your skin. Gas will still come out when you remove it. Also if you live in a dusty area or drive on a dirt road occasionally, be sure to wash the filter off with a hose before removing it. You don't want dirt getting up in the lines past the quick connect fittings when you put the new filter on.

IMO, go get a motorcraft filter from Ford. Retail is around $14-15. I'm sure they are of much better quality than Fram or the like.

My Scheduled Maintenence Guide doesn't show a fuel filter change until 30,000. Am I the only one?
