Ford recommends every 15k miles. I changed mine at around 29k, and needless to saythe old gas came out dirty.

On my other cars in the past,I changed it at around 30.000, I even cut open the old filters and they were clean. It never hurts to change them, I will do the mustang at 15.000 and see how dirty it is.

I waited till 23k, it was to long.... do it every 15k like ford recomends.

Yes it is very easy, I did not even use jack stands or the line release tool. Here is a good writeup, but skip oiling the filter.
