Is it possible to drop a 5.4L truck engine in a V6 body? because it would be much cheaper for me to get the 5.4L then getting f/I

Its not the same motor thats in the Ford GT I can tell you that much. The GT500 5.4 has an iron block, and I don't think it has a dry sump lubrication system. The only Ford truck that I know that uses a 4v 5.4 is the Navigator. There may be a few cars down under that use the 4v 5.4.

My take on swapping a 4.0 for a 5.4 in a Mustang, waste of money. Just get a GT or work with the 4.0.

Pretty sure there is a project on one of the other Mustang boards ... where the guy has already started this project ... using a Lincoln Navigator Engine ...

I am pretty sure he is using the 5.4Triton for his project, then building up the shortblock and adding a power adder onto it. Should be a pretty cool project. You can pick up a 5.4 3V block for about 1500, then build the shortblock up for around 3500, so it is pretty cost effective as well.
I am doing the GT500 engine and will be the test mule for PowerHouse to develop a turbo kit for it. Should make for an interesting project and I anticipate 9's next spring.

Don't forget about beefing up suspension.

5.4L would be a potentially faster motor than the GT 4.6L for less money than the upgrade from what I understand. Sounds like a great idea I've contemplated buying the new 302 for kicks and dropping it in my car. But it's pretty pricey right now just for a 302
