Default Driver-side over the axle pipe hitting body...

What can I put under the body of my car right above the driver-side over the axle pipe to prevent the muffler from making a loud metal bang over big bumps?

I do not want to reposition the mufflers because the alignment is perfect. Obviously I can't put anything on the muffler because it will melt (or will it?). Please let me know your suggestions. Thanks!

how much clearance between the pipe and body is there to begin with? Less than 1/2"-1"? If it is, you need to find a way to get the proper clearance first before resorting to other ways of fixing it.

The clearence has to be less than an inch. I don't mind if it hits....I just don't want that thunk.

Here is a pic of my exact setup (MAC Cat-back system)...

Assuming the pipe is hitting the rear of the axle and NOT the body like you said, my suggestion would be to loosen both the midpipe and axle clamps, ensure the axle back pipe is fully in the rear of the midpipe, then adjust with only the midpipe clamp loose. That way, you SHOULD be able to get a bit more clearance between the pipe and axle. If it IS hitting the body, then I'd loosen it all up on that side and simply realign from scratch.

The exhaust pipe alignment can be tricky on these babies, You need to have everything correct, starting from the angles on the off road pipes all the way back to the mufflers. I fixedthis same problem on mine by loosening up everything and adjusting all the angles. Good luck!
