Default What Octane do you run?

I'm curious what Octane fuel everyone runs. I have always run 93 but after reading some other posts, think I might be wasting money. I don't have a tune yet, just a granatelli CAI. Does 93 make a difference over 87 or 89 without a tune?

No. You are wasting your money if you run anything over 87 on a stock calibration. You may be running lean with the CAI without a tune. Not a good idea.

With a stock tune??? Come on, you're not helping him out here.

Does the particular Granatelli CAI you bought require a tune?
Running lean with a CAI and no tune is BAD news.
Run what the owners manual recommends unless you
have a tune. 93 will not keep the engine from running
lean and cooking things like pistons and valves.

The CAI I have does not require a tune. It came with a mass airflow sensor module that plugs in and keeps the ratio correct. So I don't think I'm running lean, but don't think I need to run 93 either.

Stick with 87 for that intake. You will only benifit from 93 if you are running a tune built for 93.

My Airaid came with the plug setup also.
You need to run 87 as the owners manual states
unless you get a tune. Its a waste of about 20 cents
a gallon to run the 93 with a stock tune and a CAI
with a no-tune-required-plug.

I run 93 with a tune and spraying a 125 shot. However, stock I ran....wait...never mind my car went from the dealership to the speed shop. I never ran stock
