Has any downloaded the 2008 accessory brochure? The new keypad is MUCH smaller the prior years and includes a paint to match faceplate. Anyone install one yet? I think it would look pretty good paint body color ...

I have the old style on my '06, but I installed it in an inconspicuous place, not on the door. These units use the same technology as your keyfob, so it can be mounted pretty much anywhere on the vehicle. I thought inside the gas cap was a pretty cool trick.

My keypad comes in handy quite a lot. I can unlock the doors, trunk, and turn on interior lights, etc. without a key. I also keep my spare key inside the car so if I lose my keyring I can still drive the car home. Nice feature to have...

I mounted mine on the cowl panel near wiper.I use it all the time. cost $35 on Ebay.

i was just B***ing about this feature, i loved it on my explorer.. now to find a place to put it... i like the gas cap idea!

 

I guess it is a god idea, as long as u hide it, it is ugly. imo
