correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the SS camaro the 450 hp one? and if thats the case they will easily be in the GT 500,C6 price range if not more. if that is the case i would stick with the vert and S/C it

Go for the Stang. The big h.p. Chevy and Mopar wont be cheap (msrp +++++dealer got you by the *****)and won't be easy to come by when released. And then there's that firstyear thing of all the problems that they will have needing to be worked out. The Stang is proven and here to stay for a bit.

As was stated before, the Camaro and Challenger will be way above sticker, bet on it. A friend of mine was on a "waiting list" (already!) for an '08 Challenger, and the HEMI Chally will supposedly be in the 60k range, and not too many will be made, according to a Dodge rep. The Camaro I imagine will be sky high as well. If you have alot of cash to burn, and want to wait, go for it, otherwise, I'd buy the '08, and if you're hell bent on more power, supercharge it. I personally don't get the whole 4.6 vs 5.0 (302) thing. A little more power I guess, but if you add forced induction to the 4.6, it'll beat ther pants off of the stock 5.0 anyway. (Also, a good CAI and tune, more than enough power you'll ever need on public roads anyway, unless you're competitively racing, then get the supercharger, IMHO) Make sure its what you really want though, I "settled" for an automatic 06 GT, now I really have the urge for the 5 spd manual, but for me to trade my car in on an 07 or 08, I'll lose way too much money, so I'm just dealing with having the auto....

Just think: in two or three years the Challenger/Camaro market will have sorted itself out, as has the Mustang market. No doubts, no questions, no gouging early-adopters, no teething problems. If they appeal to you after that time, and you don't mind leaving a beauty like the Mustang for a quick-fix plug-the-dike item that Chrysler or GM genned up in a flurry of catch-up, feel free.
Meantime, all those happy Mustang moments are fleeing with the wind.
No conflict I can see. Your money is already going to a good cause.

Do it now. In one to two years, there will be some other "hot" car in the pipline. You'll always be waiting for the next "best" thing. Live for the moment, not for some possible future. but do what feels right and never look back.

There's always going to be something more powerful and faster that will tempt you. Get the GT and drive it for a year or so then decide if you want to go FI or trade. Just my .02 cents.

Get the GT. Who wants a K car or a Chebby?

Brand loyalty is for monkeys.
I say go for the Stang now and have fun with it.
It is a great car; it looks awesome, runs great, and is mod friendly.
let the new cars come out, wait for the first yearbugs to get worked out then buy something new in a few years.

I say don't wait. You only live once and life is short. If you wait 2 years then guess what - you're 2 years older. How much fun did you lose in those 2 years? What if you find out 2 1/2 years, right after you buy a Camaro, that you have terminal cancer? Hey, its a bad example, but stop acting like there is always tomorrow and to wait for what is better. I'm sure muscle cars will one day be electric and run a 9 second 1/4 mile, but you can't wait 20 years for that either.
Buy now, have fun,re-evaluate later when the time comes.
