HELP: Need advice on SCT Xcal 2 Error **RESOLVED**
I went to upload the race tune, when it was going through the erase module
procedure it got an error "error erasing ECM". Unplugged the tuner and
plugged it back in to try again...nothing, the Xcal will not power up.
I hooked it up to my pc via the USB port and it turns on ok. Luckily
the car still starts, butthe speedo/tach are dead, gauges are ok. Is it safe to drive?
Any ideas whats wrong? Everybody's closed so you guys are all I have
right now. I took it for a quick driveand it runs great and the exhaust smells normal.

Dude, that sucks.....did you have a check engine light come on prior? Get on the horn to Doug first thing tomorrow and let us know.........
I thought when you wanted to change tunes you just plugged it in and selected the new tune and hit "select"......I didn't know anything about "erasing" any current settings.......you sure you were supposed to do that?

Not sure what the problem is but sounds like a Xcal problem to me.

You do...the erasing is the same thing that it did when you loaded you tune also, it erases the ECU then writes the new tune.
Not sure what the problem is but sounds like a Xcal problem to me.

I'm going to have to agree....it's the Xcal. I already sent an email to Doug and will be calling him
all morning. At least the car runs...my winter car is lent out to the kids (theirs is getting repaired).
It's like I'm running on a partial program...everything works but speedo/tach/dash lights and no
display in the info center...the mpg/my color/..u know, all the green text.

I'm hoping the "Stock tune" can be saved that's on the Xcal and hopefully Doug
can transfer it to the new one. I'm sure he'll know what's what. Damn, everything
was going so smooth.
