I am actually THIS CLOSE to cutting a check for the tooling to make new seat ***** to retail for a whole lot less than $30. The design will be improved too. But the tooling is not cheap!

I went to the dealer today to get my replacement VIN sticker installed and an oil change. While there I figured I'd buy a replacement seat lever **** for the back of my passenger seat. When I had my seats out doing the Upholstery swap my son decided to sit on the seat on the floor and flip it backwards. Well it cracked the **** right off.
Anyway ... the parts counter said they had one in stock and he went and got it. Sure enought it was the little plastic **** from the back of the seat. I told him to please order me a spare ... figuring they were like $5 each. While he's keying in the order he turns around and says ... you do know that these are $30 each right? I can let you have them for $25 but that's the cheapest I can go. I said no way ... 30 bucks for this little plastic ****? He said yes. I said no thanks ... I'll glue the broken on back on ..... Unbelievable ...
SO ... anyone doing an upholstery swap ... be very careful removing those *****!

What's the deal with that weird sheen you see on all upholstery switched cars? Not to be derailing the tread, but seriously... what's with that?

FYI ... I sent an email to Kevin at Clevenger Ford ... He has found incorrect part prices in the system before and had Ford fix them. Maybe this should be $3.00 ... not $30.00 .... I'll let you know what he says about it ...
