I don't know about in budget, but in my last car I was running Diamond M3 6.5" components. Great SQ and worked well with seperate amp. I also had 3 different sets of Diamond subs. I have never really heard complaints about them and I loved mine.

I recommend you get some input on brands from people on here and go to audio shops that have those brands and personally listen to them. Its all in the ear of the beholder.

 

Gotcha. Hope the OP hasn't left yet, didn't mean to hijack his thread!!! I'm sure he can use the speaker recommendations as well as I can. I'll take a listen to some different speakers as soon as I wrap up the deal on the 'stang.
