HP Performance Turbo
So, my friend just got some 62mm turbo from HP, its a garrett turbo or something like that. Was just wondering if anyone here has one or knows how well they perform? My friend keeps bragging about running low 12s high 11s with drag radials and eibachs pro kit springs. Im not to up to date on it, so any info would be appreciated! Thanks

RE: HP Performance Turbo
Just from what I've heard, the garrett turbos are good quality wise, but there is a lot more to a turbo system than just the turbo. If the helion turbo system had a garret turbo instead of a tubronetics turboI have a feeling a lot more people would get it.

Just installed a 68 mm Garrett. Not dynotuned yet. Not much to look at under the hood. No fuss...most everything sits low and hidden from view, except the large intercooler. Up onthe rack, you can see a lot more. I have an 11 lb spring in it and a boost controller. Minimum boost is 11 lb. Mechanic notched the boost up to about 15 lbs during a test drive yesterday on the highway. We just looked at each other (I was in passenger seat)... guessing how much horsepower might be going to therear wheels. We brought it back down immediately to 11 where it will stay for street use. This particularunitisrated at 780 crank hp. Transmission and rearend both rated at 800+.If all goes to plan, car will go to the track in October.

Hey Dennis
We are really not 100% sure that car can actually finish the 1/4 with the gears. It will be very close.Car has overdrive and lockout, but you can't use them for racing. The MTs are 27.6 inch diameter. Putting a 28+ inch tirewould help some. Certainly changing to 3.73 would do it for now. But next year, car will be tubbed and need the 4.10s. Sort of learn-as-you-go. I guess that's why they call Test N Tune night
