Default Painted wheel wells ???

Has anyone painted their wheel wells? Let's say you have a black stang with red racing stripes and red seats and red painted calipers. How would it look if you painted your wheel wells red also? Maybe not solid red, but maybe paint a design. Obviously, it's gonna get sandblasted and dirty, but since when does dirt stop a mod? Haha! Just something I've been wondering. (I'm not planning on doing it btw)

I'm glad you brought this up. I've been thinkin just the same kind of thing. My first convertible was a black MG TD, and I painted under the fenders, in the current style. Mandarin Red it was, almost orange, bright and striking, really looked good on that old "clamshell" style fender.

I'm not certain something that bright would look as good on a modern Mustang, but we won't know until we see it (or until someone with Photo Chop skills shows us how it would look.

Seems to me it would be pretty easy to just pull out the fender liners and paint them. That kind of material would probably require a white undercoat to make the top color look bright. Maybe a more subtle color would be appropriate?

Anyway, let's see what develops. I'm interested.

Come on! Let's shake the wheel well painters out of the woodwork. Someone has to have done this...either to great accolades, or great shame. Just tell us or show us. We won't make fun. We're scientists. We really just want the data.

I would leave that mod to the '64 hopping crowd..just don't think it would flow well with our cars..imo
But black looks good....[8D]

Begins to sound like "Not in a bright, contrasting color" is an answer. How about Really Dark Gray on a black car, Really Dark Red on a red one, etc?

Well one other thing would be keeping them looking good...that would be an every week thing.Repair rock chips and such....cause that would
be a big eye sore, cause painted wells would grab alot of attention so keeping them looking good would be a pain in the A.

You got that right! ...and you're not going to get paint to stick to that suface very well anyway, though it doesn't matter, whatever is on there is going to get sandblasted away starting with your first ride. Sorry guys, JMO but this is one really bad idea.
