Thats nice, I did mine myself in like 2 hours but i just left the calipers on and used a brush, super easy, jack it up pop the wheel off, clean it, paint it, paint again, pop wheel back on, it's alot easier than you think

Did mine awhile ago. Didn't take 8 hours. I would say more like 45 minutes. I had the car on a lift already and the wheels off, so that helped with time. Being on a lift I was able to just do one caliper and goto the next, I didn't have to wait 20 minutes, rather I just did one and moved to the next and made to circles out of the car and was done. I put the wheels back on as soon as I was done with the last wheel.

But I can tell you be careful what kind of wheel cleaner you use in the future. I usually use Meguires wheel cleaner spray on and off, well I was out and I have some Armor All wheel cleaner so I thought I would give it a try. After I sprayed it on, I grabbed the hose to spray it off and it ate all the caliper paint with it. So now I must redo the entire thing to make it look right again. Just a heads up.

Does the Mcguiers all wheel cleaner strip the caliper paint?

Now get a white pony decal and stick it on..it would look just great.
Nice job, looks great. I'm also doing the same mod soon. Already have the kit.
But, I can't find those white pony decals. They used to be at Xenonmods, now
they're not a choice anymore..what a jip. Does anybody know where to get them?

if you're thinking about painting your calipers, but feel unsure and want to bring it to a shop to get it done, please rethink your decision.this really is incredibly easy to do. whether you take the calipers off or not, all you really need is a bit of patience and a small paint brush. the brush that comes with the duplicolor kit (autozone) is crap. upgrading to a $3 watercolor brush will make a difference in your ability to do a precise job. so pull those wheels off and dive in!

During the 8 months i've had it done, I've never had a problem until I used the Armor All..

Now i know why my callipers got all messed up, i used Armor All wheel cleaner and a few days later the paint started to come off. Now i have to redo mine also, guess i shouldnt have cursed dupli color when it was Armor All[:@]....

oh well its a good reason to spend more time with my baby. If you arethinking ofhaving a shop do it reconsider, this is veryvery easy to do. Just take your sweet time and use extra masking tape and a deck of cards. If you go to the dupli color web page they have a video guide on painting your callipers.
