that's if you can tell it's on the inside, if not - i'd recheck all the bolts on the exhaust if you haven't already.. i also had to go back and retighten my axleback after installing it because it was rattling. [:-]

ya, when we pulled the stock mid off, the axles looked to be looser, but the sound sounds like its coming from the tranny/ebrake/shifter area. kinda sounds metallic too now that i think about it. i'm gonna get it on a lift and really tool around with it, and try to put some rubber or wire tape in places likely to clank. hopefully that'll do...
on the plus side, thanks for the exhaust sonic, it is awsum lol!

i had a very similar problem to the one you're describing when I installed my x-pipe. turned out the a part of the new x-pipe was pushing directly against the frame. you couldn't hear any rattles while it was running and you were laying under the car because it was pushing against the frame so hard it wasn't actually rattling anything just vibrating the frame which made all kinds of crazy noises inside the car. you should check that out.

RE: exhaust stuff
Might not help but when I had my Pypes X pipe installed the mechanic noticed something. The flanges on the Pypes is not as thick as the stock H pipe flange that mounts to the manifold. On the pasengers side the stock H pipe flange came in contact with the side of the bolt and flattened a couple of grooves in the bolt. When tightening up the x pipe the nut came up to the flat spot and stopped but there was still a little play in the pipe. He worked his magic and reworked the groves on the bolt so the nut went all the way tight and the pipe is rock solid. No vibration or odd noises. Maybe on side of you pipe is not tight against the manifold flange and that metalic rattle you hear coming through the shifter is because that is right next to the manifolds.
Just a thought.
