you shouldnt be doing cams yet, there are plenty of other supporting mods you need for best performance out of those....LTs, new midpipe CMDPs

Yup, you need to do alot more things before cams. If you MUST have cams, maybe for the weird sound or something, then so be it. But stage 3?? I thought that was like supercharger/turbocharger grinds, I thought regular NA cars should stick to stage 1.

Anyways, someone on here will help with the converter question, but thats my opinion. Have fun either way!

+1 I understand the supporting mods to be very important on the cams. Then agian I don't havecams so what do I know!

Perhaps you should look into some LT's and such first develope a repore with what ever shop your planning on using prior to going with cams. I have heard several people on here complain about the difficulty in tunnning them. You may want to make sure you have a comfort level with the shop doing the work prior to attacking a mod this size. Just my .02!

Read this: http://www.kennedysdynotune.com/Torq...ter%20Tech.htm Seems like a pretty good primer on selecting a converter.

Stage 3 is good. Mine are similar to Comp's Stage 3 and they pull like a Mo Fo above 4000 rpm all the way to 7000 (though I try not to take it that high unless money's on the line ). The main difference between a blower cam and a NA cam is the duration/overlap, though I think blower cams tend to be a bit milder.

...and yes, you need long tube headers (LT's) to get the full benefit.

Those are some pretty good numbers you have. How much money have you put into performance?

I have the crower cams as well and pulls very hard at the higher rpm, but lost on my 60' so my n/a times remain the same, but have higher trap speeds, it seems to love the nos. headers and other mods made more of an improvement than the cams. tuning is the big problem with the cams, not many shops around have done them and received adequate gains to justify cost. I'm still experimenting with tune to try and get better mid range back.. my suggestion is do the cams last

Call crane and talk to the tech department they will recommend an appropriate stall converter. Not sure what you have for rearend gears but, that is something you're going to want to talk to them about as well. Abig cam with a high stall and 3.31s isn't going to be much fun on the low end. you're going to need 4.10s or higher
