trunk botton?

RE: trunk botton?
Velcro-Fob, nice.
The SN95's had one in the glovebox - it was a PITA anyway.
I'm glad mine doesn't have one - being a vert and all. I can lock my car up, and not worry about someone gaining access to the trunk (with the top down, or just for the fact someone could rip through the top. It's going to be more noticeable someone trying to jack into your trunk, than just cutting a hole in the top.

The S95 had one in the glove box which was necessary becasue the FOB didn't work when the ignition was on. You had to turn the car off to use it. The S197s don't have the button in the glove box. The FOB works when the car is on. I like this better.
To think...Ford did that intentionally. Who'd a thunk it?

You're right about the fob not working when the SN95's were on - I should have clarified further.
I had two SN95's, both coupes. I can't imagine if I would have had a vert. I don't think there was a way to lock anything up then, was there? I don't think they had locking gloveboxes...

Think about it when do you use the button must often when your going to the car or getting out of the car. Most times you have the key fob right there with you. I have a car with a button and hardly use it I use the key fob.

True. The only other time is something like dropping a friend off at school or something, and they would have to get their backpack out of the trunk. I get in there so infrequently after the car is already on anyway...

I never understood the need for one.
When I'm in the car so is my fob.

If you are 2 hours from home and your spare keys, and happen to close the trunk lid just as you realize your keys are in the pocket of the jacket you carefully placed in the trunk[]- you need the outside lock so the locksmith can pick it and get into the trunk to retrieve your keys! With a convertible there is no way to get into the trunk from the inside of the car.

Cut a hole or cut a wire? I'll go the wire route anyday.
