Default Buying a mustang and need advice!

So, I've been in the market for a new car, and practicality be damned, im going for the mustang. I made a trip down to the dealership, and while they had a bunch of the new 08's in, there happened to be a 07 v6 coupe in pretty much exactly what I wanted. Stick, pony package, leather, and with a total sticker of $ 23,700, with a total of about 300 miles on it(guess its from test drives and stuff.) So i figured if i could save some money and get a good deal on the 07, might as well. My question is: what should I pay for this car? If I can only save a negligible amount, might as well get a new 08 fresh of the truck. After looking on edmunds, I figure maybe around 19-something? What do you guys think?

edit: any input would be appreciated; If I'm gonna get this car I'm probably buying it literally in the next 24 hours.

go to fordvehicles.com and search the inventory of the dealer you are buying from. you should be able to find the car you are looking at with the invoice price.

300 miles, september...

you should easily get invoice or below not including incentives from ford.

Yeah I know there are $2000-$2500 in rebates to take that immediately off sticker and ask for a demo discount (300 miles is kind of a lot). I would think that $19-$20k would be a good deal for a nicely equipped one such as that. If they can't do that, pick an '08 off the truck because it is a whole year newer and will have better resale value. JMO. Good luck!!

I was looking at a few used Mustangs at Galpin in Los Angeles yesterday and for $23,000 you could get a 2005-06 used GT with average mileage. There was a 2006 GT-H for $43K! So even though it's new and decently loaded, $23K is a little high for a V-6 with 300 miles.
The invoice on a 2007 V-6 Premium coupe is $18,737
The Pony Package is $653
add whatever else options are on it and deduct for the rebates
I'd recommend the new V-6 over a used GT, considering the price of gas will be getting higher soon!

I would look for an used GT if you plan onpaying $23K. But definitely go with a brand new 2008 V6 and talk them down to $23K for the same deal...leather, PP, etc. If you do decide to go with the 07, you should pay more than $20K at least! Good luck

Hmmm, $23,000 for a V6...

Around here in North Carolina.... I could go to any ford dealership around me and they have 2007 V8's with the leather seats for that price.. So I'd say that price for the V6 may be just a tad bit.

I'm in a similar situation as the Original poster. I've been reading this forum and doing research/getting quotes for over a month now.
I've had quotes between $17,900 and $18,600 for a very similar 2007, pony package, upgraded interior etc. but with an Auto transmission. So I'd be looking around for low $18k for the car in your OP.
