Default Automatic vs Manual Exhaust Sound

I've now had both an automatic and manual s197 and am wondering if I should have kept the automatic... I think I may have goten rid of the automatic prematurally only owning it for about 3-4 months. Anyway at the time I felt like it had less power since before that I had an 04 GT stick, so the auto kinda bored me, not only that I felt that the exhaust was too quiet even after I put flows on it I was still disappointed and felt that since you coulndt really wind it out or anything that the exhaust note would never be quite what I was looking for. I figured since my 04 had flows and sounded great then so should my 05....I then got a 05 Mineral Gray stick, and have really enjoyed it, Im running o/r H and slps. I know its a rather controversial exhaust setup but I love it!! Recently I moved to a much more populated area with tons of traffic and am thinking the auto may have been a nicer route than I thought of and want to know if that exhaust would get annoying knowing that you couldnt vary the RPM for exhaust purposes. At certain RPM's resounance can get rather annoying and the automatic obviously doesnt allow you to shift into a higher or lower gear to avoid this so I guess im wondering if anyone has an auto with Pyper O/R H, and the SLP's and finds this to be a problem....

...and the automatic obviously does allow you to shift into a slighty higher or lower gear...

(is it me?)

I find that withmy manual transmission, I can shift into a higher or lower gear, too.

I think what you mean is that you wanted the loud exhaust note all the time? Then you'd have to shift the auto transmission by hand! With auto, in normal driving, it upshifts so quickly, 1-2-3-4-5, that it never allows the rpms to get high enough to cause that cool exhaust sound. Driving the same speeds, but manually shifting, you can let the rpms go up above 3000 and it will sound like a manual.
There shouldn't be any difference between auto and manual transmission cars if their exhausts are identical, should there? At 3000 rpms the note should be the same, right?

Ive got flows with an o/r h pipe. I wont sugar coat it, the car is loud. Under light throttle around 40mph, the car drones bad. Full throttle is extremely loud and draws attention for a half mile in every direction. Its probobly not the ideal set up for everyone, but I like it. Good luck!

I didnt mention this, but it was also a problem to me. Right around 3 grand you get that awesome roar and the automatic shift so quick its like you never get that sound...

unless you're going back to the auto, does it really matter?

Well like I said, I just moved Orlando and the traffic I get stuck in on a regular basis is ridiculous. Its then that I feel like a manual isnt the most practical since its my D.D. So yea I guess it does matter, I'd really like to talk to someone with the same exhaust as me in an auto...
