Default 2 step

Here's my dilemma. I launch my car at 5k rpm's. Every once in a while I'll get caught at the line looking down at my tach to make sure I'm holding 5k rpm's, when I look back up, the 3rd amber will be on and my reaction suffers because of this. Since we don't have a mechanical linkagefrom the throttle body to the gas pedal, I can't figure out an easy way to set up a 2 step. My guess is this will have to be somehow done electronically.
Got any ideas?

i always wonder the same, my friends have 2 step on both srt4 and evo, i imagine that there should be a way of doing this with a tuner.

I'm not 100% sure what a 2 step launch is but I know it can be done through a hand held device like a XCAL2 not sure about Diablo. Evolution has a 2 step launch setup

Thanks Timmay, I might have to give Evolution a call this week. There is a big year end event coming up and I would like to have this working by then.

Thanks again.

A two step will allow the engine to only rev to a certain RPM undera certain speed.

Example: My launch RPM is typically 5K RPM's. If I set the 2 step to 5K RPM's until 20 MPH, I'll be able to floor the gas at the line and not go above 5K RPM's. When I launch and hit 20 MPH, the 2 step is deactivated and I can now go up to normal redline. It basically gives you 2 rev limiters.

This works great for drag racing stick shift cars so you don't have to keep looking at the tach at the line to make sure your RPM's haven't drifted while waiting for the green light. Thishurt me the other night, I looked down at the tach while I was staged, adjusted my RPM's, when I looked back up the 3rd amber was already on. My RT was .830 seconds, I lost by .03 seconds. I probably would have won the race if I had a 2 step.

I didn't realize this was an option on the SCT, I just went throughthe menu's and didn't see it. I'll have to email Doug and see if it needs enabled.

No trans brake (I think that's just for autos). I'm installing linelocks tomorrow, and I braket race every weekend. Just got back from racing 1/2 hour ago as a matter of a fact. Lost in finals. Got a nice runner-up trophy though.
