Vortech and paxton dont whine, only the procharger does. Saleen is pretty quite though. Just go to youtube and listen to some vids
Saleen Is one of te quietest blowers I've ever heard. I can barely hear it under WOT. Are you sure that the CAI and exhaust is secured tighly? I have minimal whine under WOT.
I said its quite. What are you refering to?
I think you meant quiet
yeahI slept through most of my school years, lol.

You can hear the whine if your on the throttle, in the boost but not WOT, it's lower in pitch compared to the whipple. At WOT the engine itself, as well as the exhaust, drowns out any whine.

Ah yes, The snail chargers are probably the loudest, along with turbos. Then the Rousch, Saleen, Whipple, in that order. The quietest I've heard is the Kenne Bell. Mine makes zero noise unless I'm really on it, then it'smore like awhooop noise. No whine whatsoever.

People can hear mine it's not as loud as the othersbut people know its there. When you punch it you can definatly hear it. When I pull up to gas stations people in the area can hear it.I had a guy pull up next to me on the express way just to watch me punch it and gave me a big thumbs up. I've been approached at Autozone with people outside asking what was under the hood. Everyone can hear it but does everyone notice it? If you don't know what the whine is the average person will probably think there is something wrong with the engine. I can hear the whine more with the 3.4 pulley then the 3.6 if that helps any. Good luck.

If you dont like any noise then I think you would be out of choices when buying a supercharger. My ProCharger makes that noisy whine only at idle. Soon as you blip the gas pedal it goes away and is replaced with a higher pitched, yet quiet whine. Kind of like flying in a jet at altitude. All the "top mounts" whine slightly at idle, but definetly get more aggressive when you get into it. To me, they all make sweet sounds, butin their own way.[sm=yeahsmile.gif]

I have a Whipple H O (10 PSI). You cannot hear it at all until you are into boost. Then you hear the "whine" or "whooooop" as the air is compressed.

You can drive it all day and if you stay out of boost no one knows the difference. Drives just like a regular ol' GT. Get on it enough for the by-pass to close and let the music begin.

Most of the centri's (snail) I have heard whine at idle as well as under boost.

+1 Scotty, exactly like my Kenne Bell. "Street Sleeper" until the pedal hits the metal!
