Default Rearview Mirror Question

I have the rearview mirror with the compass built into it, and my assumption was that it's only a compass and doesn't feature temperature readings or anything like that. Well, I had the top down this morning on the way into work, and the sunlight caught the display just right to where I could read an unlit "F", "C", and a degree symbol. I pushed the center button on the mirror, but all it did was turn the compass on and off.

My guess is that the rearview mirror is just a standard Ford mirror that is used in multiple models - some of which feature temp readings, some don't - and the Mustang is the latter of the two. Am I correct in this assumption, or is there a way to get it to read temperature as well? It isn't a big deal (I'm not going to trade the car in over it ) but I like stumbling across the little "I didn't know it did that" features of a new car, and I was just curious.

Thanks!
Cheers!

I am pretty sure it is only a compass, mine is pictured below. There is only one button on it so if there was a temperature how would you be able to switch it from "F" to "C".

Well, I didn't know if you could cycle through options with a single button like: Compass, Fahrenheit Temp, Celsius Temp, Off, then back to Compass. Again, though, I agree that it's probably a compass only, but just thought I'd ask!

I believe there are 3 versions available. With compass, with temp, with garage door opener, or different combos of these features.

Was the Compass/Temp/Garage Door opener combo offered on the Mustangs at any point? I ordered bascially every option available (on 2007 at least) and you know which mirror I ended up with. I don't care about the temp reading, but a garage door opener would be sweet. I've these on other cars, just not a Stang...not that I couldn't swap out the mirrors, I guess.

Yes, it is an option. You didn't get them all.

Well, )*&%)$*&%! LOL

Oh well, no biggie! Just out of curiousity, what did you have to order to get that? I have the IUP, but I know there were some odd differences between that and the other interior package (the name of which escapes me now). Neither seemed to be a true upgrade over the other...each one just had some differences. That was probably the case.

I've got the IUP, comfort package and premium interior, and mines only a compass too - I recall that the garage opener is what they call HomeLink, but I don't know if you can option it on a Stang - check with your dealer..
