ya hess is discount, avoid it.
also, i suppose the brand name stuff can age too. get brand name stuff, and get it ata busygas station, increases likelihood of getting the right fuel. brand name fuels are also cleaner.

+1 get name brand fuel and go to a station that has alot of business
if you still have the problem get a "GREAT" oct booster a good one won't give you any trouble

If your car is pinging, then it is pulling timing and you are losing performance, you dont have this problem becuase the 91 with 93 gas will not ping and will not pull timing. Sounds like from the place you live that the 91 will work best but you might have the same problems with 91 oct loaded. The other choice is have the 93 tune done with a little less timing/spark maybe.
