From what I understand (and this part is 3rd hand knowledge), when a car is assembled and readied for delivery, after a short break-in period, a tech (not sure if its at the factory ot dealer) connects into the OBDII port, and locks all the values into their maximum figure and runs the car for a minute or two like this. So, this MAY be the "hidden performance tune" your talking about... but running your car like this for any length of time would be retardly dangerous.
so...this tech connects to the obdii port, and runs the car at it's maximum values for a minute or two....this could be the hidden tune i'm talking about. say i wanted to be retarded and dangerous and do this....how can i?

.....Question, I have been running 87 gas, with stock tune. If I switched to 93 gas would there be any change in power?....
NO! This topic has been beat to death. Do a search, but you won't gain jack with higher than 87 octane without a tune.
Whoa Nuke....relax dude. Ray - you will need a custom tune to see any gains with anything over the factory 87 tune. It is highly recommended by E V E R Y O N E!

This is the first time I have tried to respond to the site. I have been reading threads for about 5 months, (when I purchased a 2005 GT)

Question, I have been running 87 gas, with stock tune. If I switched to 93 gas would there be any change in power?

Oh, by the way, I am 62 and had lots of motorcycles, and hot cars in my past. The new style stang is one of the most fun things to drive I have ever been in or on. Ford got it right this time.

you arent going to really get any noticable gains from using 93 with stock tune. I always use the 93 becuase its generally better gas and my car always felt smoother burning it than the 87

If your transfunctioner doesn't allow the PCM to maintainpreset performance driveability within the halepenuated realm of the refraction ratio then 80 jigowatts will never be reached and no'one is going back to the future.

Everything else is hogwash.

I call BS too......i highly doubt they dyno the cars before delivery.....
Not dyno it in the sense of measuring rear wheel power, but every assembly plant I've been to had end of line rolls. They start the car up, drive onto the available rolls, and plug in to the computer there. The computer runs the car through several diagnostics and a lot of engine speeds & loads, including at/near redline running.

its there, just disabled along with the flux capacitor. you have to modify the alternator to reach the 6.21 jigawats for them to work though.
