I thought only us 4.0 guy's had this problem. The Hurst and K- member brace with torque limiters did the trick for me.

Thanks so much for the help guys!! I'm gonna get the k-member brace with engine torque limiters since it is probably the cheapest part to get and the easiest to install and fixes the problem. Thanks again!

The Hurst shifter will help but the Torque limiters are what really make the difference.

The K-member brace also fixes thepop noise in the front suspension. So, it's a two for one deal if you order it with the torque limiters. Just don't crank the torque limiters down too tight as they will transmit alot of unwanted vibration to the chassis. Great product! definately a worthwhile mod.

You need the CHE K-member brace with torque limiters

When I got my Hurst shifter, it did make it better to hit 3rd. But I'm still missing every once in a while. I'm planning on getting the brace and limiters sometime soon.

One of my first mods was the K-Member brace w/ Torque Limiters. I would do WOT shifts and never miss 3rd. Then when I installed my longtubes, the torque limiters would hit the longtubes, so I had to take them off. I do shifts now, and it's much harder to get into 3rd, and sometimes, I miss it. Definitely need to get a new shifter, and probably new motor mounts.
