OMG. I might have to get hood pins ASAP!
So I'm doing my normal drive to work. Get up to around 105 or so and my freaking hood popped up. WTF!! The safety latch caught it so it didn't come flying into my windshied, but still. WTF!!!!! Scared the crap out of me. I've seen the hood wooble before when doing anything over 100mph, but never thought the darn thing would try to spread its wings.
I haven't been under the hood for at least 3-4 weeks. So today was no different that any other day. Anyone else had this crap happen? I hope adjusting the rubber hood stoppers will prevent this from happening again.

Yeah that sucks -- glad you're ok ... I had hood pins on my stock hood to avoid the shaking then kept them with the new hood just to be safe ... hood pins work wonders!

there's a post about hood wobble right down below. apparently, you should try adjusting the rubber stoppers - that should help some.

Has anybody tried or seen these in use? http://coastfab.com/specials.html#aerocatch
Price is not too bad and they are unique - seems like a good option if you want to avaoid the same old hood pins that have been around for 40 years.

Where/how do you use the weatherstip? I tried adjusting the stoppers and it stopped the hood shake (got up to 95mph) but made my hood gaps between the top of my front fender uneven - the hood driver side was about 1/4 inch over the fender top.
Sorry to hear about that hood popping open - it was bound to happen - it would really freak me out too! That just shouldn't happen from a proper design perspective.

Yep, it might take a few tries with the hood stops (and some weatherstrip) but the hood can be quieted down.
