Two S197 GTs & 31 months later, haven't been so pleased(okay, a bit more power & better brakes).
I've owned over 20 different cars & trucks over the years and, well, since it's my first Mustang(s), has pleased me the most with ease. No disrespect to owners of any Mustang produced from 1974-2004, but the S197 model is a true descendant of the original '64 1/2-'73 cars and has the looks and proportionsdown so well thatFord never had to put the word Mustang(well, okay, it's on the windshield) anywhere on the bodywork/interior. People know what it is, in fact when I bought my first S197 GT in March 2005, a homeless man(looking to clean my windows) instantly recognized the car(although hesaid, "That's the newShelby Mustang, huh?") and didn't make any gestures to wipe my windows(I gave him a few bucks since he showed respect & admiration).
Hope Ford keeps the update tasteful and mild, no need to ruin a great thing...................

Yeah... Mine's going away for the winter...Out comes the lightning ...Ford guys know how to work on thier fords generally... The other guys that buy fords crowd our dealers with endless complaints as if they bought a bentley.. It makes me sick to see somebody complain about the dumbest things like "the interior's plastic" like wtf man did you want wood? or "my car's noisey" and I'm like so? or the endless "I paid for 300 horses so why is it so slow/ how can I make it faster" threads...I wanna say STFU moron use the search thread dumba$$
I mean for $25+k what exactly do you expect?

O.K. I'm another guy who has owned almost 20 cars since I started driving. Some of them were really nice cars, some were basic transportation "after my first divorce". At one time, I even owned a 66 GT350 mustang. I dreamed for years of getting another one as I watched the prices sky rocket to the point where I could never afford another one. So I just *** kicked myself for over 20 years for selling it. Last year about this time my wife came home on Saturday from shopping and said I need you out front please come out. So I went out front and there was ablack GT 06 Stang sitting in the driveway. I just about sh** myself, as she said lets go for a ride, you drive. She said "you need one of these" you've waited over twenty years for another one. So, needless to say I drove it, and loved it. Two days later I drove home my 07 GT. Now guys, the 66 Shelby I owned was a great car. But it was a 66 model with no comfort features. In the last year I have modded the cr** out of my 07. She now drives better and faster than my Shelby ever did. She is without a doubt, the greatest and most fun car I ever owned.

... Because something this great deserves a soundtrack. I've got an All Ford playlist on my iPod.
