I have owned the car for a little over a year and a half. I have never used water to clean the car. I have several California car dusters. One for the top of the car, one for the sides, and one for the rims. Yes- I am very **** about my ride as you can tell already. I always follow with Meguiars Quik detailer or ultimate detailer and do this after every time I take the car out of the garage. I detail the undercarrage once every 6 months and dress the tires when needed with Zaino's perfect tire shine (I think that is what its called)-its great stuff and doesn't contain silcones and stuff that browns the tires over time which is annoying to say the least. I use that stuff for anything black as it works great on engine components as well.I clay the car once a year with Meguiars mild clay with quik detailer as the lubricant to clay the car. I polish, glaze, and wax the car once a year as well and apply the wax once every month until storage (stored 6 months a yr). I use only Meguairs products and love the resultsI have had for many years now esp with dark colored cars. Why change products if they work for ya- right? Check the gallery for better pics than the sig pic below. She has a nice shine little to no swirls and the color is deep and reflective. I could use the car as a mirror ifI wanted to....LOL.
Hope it helps J

Half the time I clean the car myself in my driveway and the other half i'll take it to the car wash down the street. Two guys wash the car (no hard brushes) and another two guys wipe it down and do the interior, rims, and tires. They do a damn good job for $15. Hell I pay that much when I wash it myself at the car wash, so its just easier to let them do it so I can BS on the phone with somebody lol.

personally i am very paranoid and refuse to let anyone clean my baby but me.
I'm the exact opposite.I let my localcar wash place do it, although it can go months between washes.Looks OK to me.

I use the two bucket method. Wash with some kind of Mr. Clean glove, use Rain X wash solution with some kind of wax agent in it. I use a jelly blade to get most of the water off after the final rinse. Then use some microfiber towels to finish her off. Takes about 30-45 mins. Do it every weekend.

My Stang isn't my DD and gets a lot of long haul highway miles at each shot so she gets bugged-up fast. I always hand wash with the ICE solution and use a microfiber mit. It does a great job getting the bugs off. I need to research the "clay bar" thing. I've only waxed her using ICE. It keeps her easy to keep clean. And it's darn hard to keep her wet when washing her since the water beads right off...
