Default 2007 Hanger changes

I want to order some axle back mufflers for my 2007 GT, but I have read a couple places that Ford changed the hangers for the 2007 model produced after a certain date. My car was made in 4/07. Does anyone have any idea if and when the changes were made? Thanks

I haven't heard that before ... and I'm pretty sure some of the 08 guys here have put on axle backs. My 07 was an early one (sept I think) but they are in the normal location.

My 'stang was also built in April 07, and I had no problem mounting my MAC axle-backs.

supposedly the 05's used a metal hanger with the rubber inside but that was too expensive for ford so they decided to use all plastic or all metal (not exactly sure on the details but i read it on here a few weeks ago)....

If your hangers are all rubber then you have the new ones. Your car build 4/07 most likly yes. The old ones are metal hagers with rubber inside of them. Just look under the car by the muffles. You should be able to see the rear hanger.

Sometime during the mid-production run on 2007 Mustangs, Ford realized that they were loosing money on the intricate metal/rubber exhaust hanger they designed for the 2005+ Mustangs. Thus they switched over to a cheaper rubber only hanger system to attach the factory exhaust. Unfortunately, this system will ONLY work with factory exhaust and will not allow for installation of aftermarket exhaust.

Switching to the 2005 to mid-2007 style hangers solves this problem and will allow for installation of any 2005+ Exhaust System on late production 2007+. To install this exhaust system on a late production 2007+ Mustang, we offer you Pypes 2005+ Mustang 304 Stainless Steel Exhaust Hangers available in the dropdown list below at a fraction of the cost of OEM replacement hangers from Ford!
